Today:

Walked 1 hour.

Mom started ahead of time with Chocolate Dipped Stars. (Come to think of it, I don’t think she used that recipe, I think she used the Mrs. Fields recipe but I don’t have it in front of me right now).

Then we did the dough for:

• Ribbon Cookies
• Chocolate Marzipan Pinwheels
• Nutmeg Logs

Went home. Fed and walked dogs. Fed chickens. Cooked nutmeg logs and just barely finished in time to take Grep to the vet. While mom stayed at our house and cookied the pinwheels, Paul and I bought chicken feed, a small waterer and feeder for Squeak, peanut hearts for chickens, and rawhide for the dogs, gassed up the truck, and picked up a box from the post office. Went home. Helped mom dip stars and a few pinwheels in chocolate at her house. Went home and baked Ribbon Cookies. Ate leftover lasagna standing up in kitchen. Typed cookie recipes into wiki. Did this blog entry.

Imminent collapse. Putting off the Christmas cards.

What we’ve been doing for the past week and a half. Pergo, wall painting, new rug.

I love how one minute it’s fall and Thanksgiving, next it snows overnight and it’s the Christmas season. Doesn’t hurt to watch ‘A Christmas Story’ after demolishing Thanksgiving dinner, either.

Yay, snow! Send more, please!

Ate far too much christmas cookie dough and the ‘defective’ cookies. I feel almost as green as the christmas tree.

Know what? Chickens and guinea fowl don’t seem to like snow.

“If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes” in this case a bit more then 5 minutes, but given a good mix of wind and large lakes, pretty cool things can happen ;).

Watching March of the Penguins . I could never be a nature photographer. One scene in the extras has the film crew going out after a blizzard, there are bunches of dead penguin chicks frozen to the ice, as well as several scooting around wounded and w/o parents =/. I’d have picked up every single one of the not dead ones and smuggled them to the base.

Bucket of penguins anyone? =)

(I’m talking about the first french extra bit, not the crittercam one. But that was damn cool too).
